Human Birds

The idea for ‘Human Birds’ struck me whilst doodling one day at University in 2005. Although the original paintings
solely depicted cats and birds with faces, the theme has now evolved into a more human figurative style with insight
from artists like Eileen Cooper, John Bellany, Stephen Chambers and Anita Klein. I still like to include old imagery
and icons from my previous ‘Bird’ paintings into my current works, hence why this gallery is still named after them.

The paintings in this collection are idiosyncratic, but that does not mean they should be feared. They are allegorical,
however they contain no intentional hidden meanings; it is therefore up to the viewer to interpret them as they wish.
