The idea for ‘Human Birds’ struck me whilst doodling at University in 2005. Although the original paintings solely depicted cats and birds with faces, the theme has now evolved into a more human figurative style with inspiration from artists like Cooper, Bellany, Chambers and Klein. I still include imagery and icons from my original ‘Bird’ paintings into current works, hence this gallery is still named after them.
